Faculty
Dr. Jordan Malof is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Malof lab and he is currently an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Missouri, where he joined in Fall 2024 as a prestigious Mizzou Forward new faculty (link). Dr. Malof has 50+ peer-reviewed publications (link) and received over $3 million of funding to support his work.
Graduate Students
Saad Lahrichi is a second-year Ph.D. student in computer science specializing in machine learning, with a focus on real-world applications like remote sensing and material design. His previous projects investigated self-supervised learning for remote sensing imagery, attention-based models for fire spread modeling, and deep learning techniques for inverse material design. You can find more about his work on Scholar, GitHub, and LinkedIn..
Research Interns
Zisheng (Zion) Sheng Zion is a full-time research Assistant. He earned his master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Duke University in 2024. His current research interests lie in the domain of deep learning and computer vision where he studies the latest AI technologies to solve scientific problems that rely on remote sensing images, such as climate change. Specifically, he is working on self-supervised learning and foundational models based on massive satellite datasets. Beyond the research, he spends some of his spare time in music, reading, and exercising.
